Restarting Her Career After Motherhood
Building a Future in Data Science
After spending several years raising her children full-time, Rebecca Allen struggled with the idea of restarting her career.
"I felt like I had completely lost my confidence," she admitted.
She wanted a field that offered both analytical work and long-term flexibility, which eventually led her toward data science and SkyStates.
Finding a Learning Environment That Worked
"The flexible class timings honestly saved me," Rebecca explained. "As a mom, you need something realistic."
She quickly found herself enjoying the collaborative environment.
"The community felt supportive instead of competitive."
The trainers also simplified difficult technical concepts in a way that made them feel manageable.
"I thought machine learning would be impossible for me to understand, but they made it practical."
Her portfolio projects included forecasting models and customer segmentation analysis, which later became major talking points during interviews.
"The project-building process made me finally feel like a real analyst."
Rebuilding More Than Just a Career
After months of preparation, portfolio work, and mock interviews, Rebecca accepted a business intelligence analyst role.
"I started this journey doubting myself every day," she said. "Now I finally feel independent and confident again."
